Virtual Discussion: Climate Capitalists, 2024 Moskowitz Prize Winner
May 15, 2025 by Charlie Bingham
The 2024 Moskowitz Prize winning paper, Climate Capitalists, will be presented by co-author Kilian Huber. Kilian will give an overview of the research and their findings which centers around the critical question of how to encourage companies to adopt greener practices and reduce emissions. This study shows that the cost of capital for green firms/investments—based on data extracted from corporate conference calls with investors—has decreased since the rise of sustainable investing in 2016, potentially providing all firms incentive for greener production. The 30-minute presentation will be followed by 30 minutes of open Q&A and will be moderated by Lloyd Kurtz, founder of the Moskowitz Prize and Visiting Scholar at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
