Impact & Sustainable Finance Faculty Consortium Convening to Return to In-Person with a Hybrid Option this June

April 14, 2022 by Megan Kashner

June 22nd to June 24th will mark the seventh annual convening of the Impact & Sustainable Finance Faculty Consortium at Kellogg. The membership-based group now boasts over 330 members from over 130 universities across more than 30 countries and 6 continents. All these faculty members teach or research in the areas of impact investing or sustainable finance and come together each June to share latest trends, compare teaching approaches, and find opportunities for collaboration.

This June, the group will once again convene at Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management and will follow an agenda that focuses plenary speakers and discussions in the mornings (Central Time, US) to allow for the greatest numebr of virtual attendees from other time zones to log in and engage. The afternoons will be focused on breakout discussions to allow for more focused conversation and sharing.

Plenary sessions for this year's convening include: Listening to our Students; a Dean's Panel on the Future of Sustainable Finance in Higher Education, Measurement and Standards, Research and its Translation to the Classroom, and Conflict Areas and Responsible Investment Practices. Breakout discussions will include: Carbon Accounting and Net Zero Pledges, the Changeing Pedagogy of Finance, Shifting Standards, Racial Equity, Teaching Measurement and Reporting, Public_Private Partnerships and Blended Finance, Shareholder Voice and Activism, Financial Modeling and Fundamental Financial Skills for Impact, Impact Finance and the Developing Country Perspective, and Desinging Investment Products.

More than anything, this group of colleagues looks forward to reconvening and reconnecting. Thanks to generous support from the Rockefeller Foundation, the Consortium Members can enjoy this community of fellow faculty and enjoy financial support for their travel to the Chicago area.
